The 10 Best Chimney Sweeps in San Jose (2026)
This list ranks the leading chimney sweeps serving San Jose and nearby neighborhoods using Google review data, updated for 2026. We apply a Bayesian-style score that weights average rating by review count so businesses with many high ratings rise above occasional outliers. The goal is a practical snapshot for homeowners and property managers who need reliable, reviewed options for chimney and flue cleaning. The selections reflect what locals are saying right now on Google, not endorsements, and are meant to help you shortlist providers to contact directly for estimates and scheduling.
This ranking is computed from Google reviews (our method). Listings marked Partner are paid advertising spots: they sit alongside the ranking without changing its order.

Frequently asked questions
How should I choose a chimney sweep in the San Jose area?
Start by checking recent reviews and the overall rating, but also look for consistent feedback about punctuality, thoroughness, and clear pricing. Confirm that the company lists chimney sweeping as a core service and ask about certifications, insurance, and references before booking.
When is the right time to call a chimney sweep?
Call a chimney sweep before you plan to use a fireplace regularly—ideally once a year or after heavy use—to reduce fire risk and ensure proper venting. Also schedule an inspection if you notice smoke backdrafts, strange odors, or visible damage to the flue or chimney crown.
What should I check before hiring a chimney sweep?
Verify that the company carries liability insurance and can provide a written estimate or scope of work; ask whether rodent or creosote removal is included or priced separately. It’s also sensible to confirm whether the technician will perform a post-cleaning inspection and provide before-and-after documentation.
How was this ranking of chimney sweeps created?
This list is based on Google review data collected and updated for 2026, using a Bayesian-style score that weights average rating by the number of reviews. That method reduces the impact of small sample sizes and highlights businesses with both high ratings and meaningful review counts.
