The 10 Best Ice Skating Rinks in San Jose (2026)
This list ranks the top ice skating-related venues around San Jose using a Google-review-based methodology (a Bayesian score that weights average rating by number of reviews), refreshed for 2026. We prioritized places that show up on Google as arenas, rinks, sports complexes and training facilities, and included nearby Bay Area options commonly used by San Jose skaters. Whether you’re looking for public sessions, lessons or hockey practice, these results reflect what local reviewers are saying. Use the ranked list as a starting point and check each venue’s current schedule and policies before you go.
This ranking is computed from Google reviews (our method). Listings marked Partner are paid advertising spots: they sit alongside the ranking without changing its order.

Frequently asked questions
How should I choose the right ice rink in San Jose?
Consider what you want—public skating, lessons, youth hockey or open ice—and check each venue’s schedule and Google reviews for recent user feedback. Look at the facility type listed on Google (arena, rink, sports complex) to match services and read several recent reviews rather than a single score.
What does a Google rating and number of reviews tell me about a rink?
The average rating shows general satisfaction while the review count indicates how many people have weighed in; a high rating with many reviews usually signals consistent quality. Rankings that weight both factors help balance a small sample size against widespread user experience.
What should I check before booking a private event or lesson at a rink?
Confirm availability, session length and any rink-specific rules like equipment requirements, capacity limits or insurance needs for organized events. Also ask about skate rental, instructor credentials for lessons, and cancellation policies in writing.
When is the best time to call a rink or check online?
Call or consult the venue’s official website before you go to confirm current hours, session times and holiday schedules, since public sessions and hockey leagues can change frequently. For private bookings or lessons, contacting the rink well in advance will improve your chances of securing preferred dates and times.
